As an advanced Iyengar yoga practitioner, I’m always searching for meaningful ways to deepen my practice. For me, attending Iyengar yoga workshops and conventions in Europe is more than just study—it’s a chance to combine my love of travel, meeting inspiring people, and exploring new places.
That’s why I’ve created this page: a regularly updated list of Iyengar yoga events in Europe 2026, including both official Iyengar yoga association conventions and independent workshops or retreats. I’ll clearly mark the difference so you can easily find what best suits your yoga journey.
If you know of an event I’ve missed, or if you’d like to share details of a workshop, feel free to email me at info@ananda-hum.com. I’ll gladly keep this resource as complete as possible for our Iyengar yoga community.
I hope it inspires you to roll out your mat in new places, connect with fellow practitioners, and keep your practice vibrant.
With love, Leslie
Upcoming Iyengar Yoga Events in Europe (Updated January 2026)
Dear Iyengar Yoga Community,
The European calendar for 2026 has truly come to life. Whether you are looking for the profound atmosphere of a national convention or the intimacy of a regional retreat, this year offers an incredible range of opportunities to study with world-renowned teachers.
Below is our most comprehensive list yet, featuring newly confirmed conventions in Latvia and Belgium, alongside some wonderful independent workshops and festivals.
2026 National Conventions
These official association events are the highlights of the Iyengar calendar, often featuring senior teachers directly from Pune or highly respected international figures.
If you are traveling from outside Europe, note that Abhijata Iyengar will be teaching in Florence (April 18–20) and then in Barcelona (April 24–26). This presents a rare opportunity to attend back-to-back conventions with one of the world’s leading Iyengar teachers.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Italy (Florence):Garth McLean will lead a specialized workshop focusing on yoga for neurological issues in March 2027. This is a rare opportunity for practitioners and teachers interested in medical applications of the Iyengar method.
Tips & Planning for Your Journey
Advance Bookings: Major conventions like those in Germany and the UK fill up months in advance. Many now operate waitlists, so register as soon as possible.
Props & Level Requirements: Most conventions recommend at least two years of consistent practice and ask you to bring your own "yoga kit" (mat, belt, two blocks). Always check the specific level requirements before booking.
Workshops vs. Conventions: If you prefer a more intimate setting, workshops (like the Lisbon intensive) often offer more direct interaction with the teacher than the large halls used for conventions.
I hope this updated list helps you plan a year of growth and connection. If you have details on an event I’ve missed, please send them to info@ananda-hum.com.
