I have suffered from stomach ache and acidity for some time. Along the years, I have tried many different tablets and finally decided to go for natural remedies.
I am sharing here some tips on how to improve stomach pain naturally:
1- Adopt an alkaline diet in order to reduce inflammation.
Basically, remove sugar, caffeine and alcohol from your diet, decrease red meat and increase your intake of greens and nuts)
2- Drink a glass of lukewarm water with the juice of a lemon & pieces of ginger first thing in the morning.
It helps maintain digestive health as well as the pH balance of the body.
3- Take a tablespoon of aloe vera juice (100% pure and organic) between meals.
Aloe vera juice acts as a natural antacid remedy.
4- Do intermittent fasting to let the stomach rest
It allows the stomach to heal itself and lower the levels of insulin which in turn helps lose weight and increase the quality of your health.
How to do intermittent fasting? Abstain from eating for 14 to 16h before eating normally during the rest of the day (I fast from 7pm to 9am). Try and do it 3 or 4 days a week (I personally did it everyday when I felt really ill).
5- Introduce a yoga routine of asanas for stomach relief such as:
- Knees to chest pose (reclined, bend your knees, hug them towards your chest)
- Child's Pose or Embryo Pose
- Gentle twists (seated or reclined)
- Viparita karani (lying down, lift legs up against the wall)
When implementing all these changes, I usually feel better after a week :-)
And I have kept some of them as part of my daily routine: lukewarm water with lemon first thing in the morning and intermittent fasting (twice a week).
