I am delighted to present a truly special illustration by my dear friend and immensely talented graphic designer, Carol García del Busto. Carol, a true artist, has been the creative mind behind the brand image of Ananda Hum since its inception. When I asked Carol to create an illustration inspired by one of BKS Iyengar’s most famous quotes, I was overjoyed with the result. This powerful quote—"The body is the bow, asana is the arrow, and the soul is the target"—captures the essence of Iyengar yoga in a simple, yet profound way.
For me, this quote perfectly encapsulates the role yoga plays in my life. It is a beautiful reminder that the body (the bow) is the vehicle through which we focus our intention (the arrow) to reach a deeper connection with the soul (the target). Yoga is not merely physical exercise; it is a journey that involves alignment of the body, mind, and spirit. Through each pose, we refine our aim, with our ultimate goal being a deeper understanding of ourselves and a sense of inner peace.
