I still have a giant smile on my face as I write this.
If you had told me a week ago that I would be spending my weekend in Munich, surrounded by hundreds of passionate yogis, I might not have believed you. This trip was a last-minute whirlwind, but it has brought so many unexpected joys into my life. I left Munich yesterday with my heart completely full of gratefulness.
The journey itself was a beautiful preface to the weekend. Flying into Munich, I was treated to spectacular views from the plane window—the lush, green landscape below contrasting beautifully with the crisp, white snow capping the tops of the mountains in the distance.
A massive and heartfelt thank you goes to the Iyengar Yoga Association of Germany (@iyengar_yoga_deutschland) for the invitation and the incredibly warm welcome. I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to my dear friend Fiama, the owner of Omua yoga shorts (@omua.yoga). This trip truly wouldn't have come true without her—especially thanks to her wonderful German speaking skills, which helped us navigate the weekend flawlessly!
Expanding the Ananda Hum Family
This weekend marked a beautiful milestone for Ananda Hum. We had the incredible opportunity to step into the German Iyengar market and meet so many of our wonderful customers in person.
Because it was a last-minute trip, I had to get creative with my setup! I brought along a "pocket-size" stand, managing to fit a curated selection of our favorite yoga accessories into just four boxes. It was proof that you don't need a massive setup to share a lot of love and quality yoga gear.
Beyond meeting customers, one of the highlights of the weekend was the camaraderie. I got to spend truly quality time sharing stories, laughs, and experiences with the other sellers in the venue's absolutely beautiful setting.
Capturing the Memories
Here is a little glimpse into my Munich scrapbook from the weekend:
-
Photo 1: The final group photo! An incredible 300 people gathered to learn from the inspiring Udai Bhosale. (Though I was busy managing the stand and unfortunately couldn't take part in the practice myself, the energy in the room was palpable!)
-
Photo 2: My cozy, pocket-size stand where I managed to fit a selection of our accessories into just four boxes.
-
Photo 3: My partner in crime, Fiama, showcasing her beautiful organic cotton yoga shorts, proudly made right in Barcelona.
-
Photo 4: Striking a pose in the stunning convention venue.
-
Photo 5: Catching up with Yoga Woods (honestly, the Maserati of wood yoga props!) and Christina Schneider, who was selling her own lovely handmade shorts.
-
Photo 6: A wonderful moment with Dr. Hermann Traitteur from @yoga_berlin. He has kindly approved me as an official reseller of his beautiful books, Yoga Asana Anatomy and Yoga Asana Physiology! I am thrilled to announce that I will be selling them in English on my online shop shortly. If you want to secure your copy, you can preorder right now by emailing me. Alternatively, they can also be bought online directly through Hermann's website (please note that his yoga physiology book is set to be released soon!).

Photo 7: Smiling with the incredibly friendly Slovenian team from @run_to_yoga.

Photo 8: Settled into my train seat heading home, already diving into my new reading material. Thank you so much for the book, Hermann!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, or shared a smile with us this weekend. The German Iyengar community is full of warmth, and I can't wait to return.
Until next time, namaste!
