Deepen Your Practice: 10+ Yoga Gems Free on Kindle Unlimited

As many of you know, my passion for yoga extends far beyond the mat—it’s a lifelong study. I am often asked what books I recommend for those following the Iyengar tradition or for any seeker looking to deepen their practice.

I have a confession: I am a book lover who has run out of shelf space! While I adore paper books, I simply cannot accumulate them all. To keep my home clutter-free, I borrow from the library and use Kindle Unlimited.

My system is simple: I use Kindle Unlimited to "get a feel" for a book. If I find it is a true gem that I’ll want to highlight and reread for years, I eventually buy the physical copy. Below are the gems currently available for free on KU that are truly worth your time.

🧘 Philosophy & Spiritual Inspiration

These foundational texts provide the "why" behind our physical practice.

  • Luz sobre los Yoga Sutras de Patañjali – B.K.S. Iyengar The definitive guide to yoga philosophy. B.K.S. Iyengar’s commentary is essential for every practitioner.

🛠️ Mastering the Practice: The Eyal Shifroni Collection

The "A Chair for Yoga" Series

The chair is one of the most versatile tools in Iyengar yoga. These books provide hundreds of variations to support and deepen your asanas.

The "Props for Yoga" Series

These volumes focus on specific categories of poses, showing you exactly how to use blocks, straps, and walls.

💡 Why We Use Props

In our practice, props are not used to make things "easier." They are used to create alignment, stability, and space. They allow the body to stay in a pose long enough for the nervous system to settle and the mind to become quiet.

Ready to start? If you are inspired to build your home "Yoga Lab," visit our shop at Ananda Hum. We offer the professional-grade yoga chairs, blocks, and straps featured in Shifroni’s books, all made with sustainable materials.
